Whether they're imported … I'm a new Synology user (DS218J) and have spent the last few weeks trying to setup my NAS as a cloud storage for photos/videos.
I have 18,000 photos trying to backup and it is processing at around 5 photos a minute. Installed Synology Photo, but this does not show any picture in my /photo map. It does so remarkably reliably, and it creates both incremental (all changes since the last backup) and differential (all changes since the initial backup) images as well as full images.
It’s an imaging program at its core: It backs up all the used sectors on a drive or partition to a single file. Simply talking about new features is a disservice to True Image, which has historically deserved mention in any discussion of the best backup solution available. The cornucopia of features Acronis has implemented over the years are still there. Acronis also claims improved performance, especially in the realm of small-file copying. Backing up your entire PC is much simplified, and universal restore (the ability to recover to hardware different from that on which the backup was made) is now standard across the product line. While the interface is True Image 2015’s most salient improvement, there are also some internal additions and refinements. This is a mainstay feature for “easy-to-use” backup products that’s saved more than one user’s bacon. Selecting data to back up is much simpler that with previous iterations of True Image. Based on past experience with Acronis, the issues will be resolved once the company is convinced they exist.

The update function and license functions were ersatz as well, although this could have been due to the multiple builds I needed to install.
Acronis fixed the first two issues by the time this went to press, but the latter remained in the release version.
